The short version

The DeskTiles app

DeskTiles runs entirely on your Mac. It makes no network requests, has no backend server, requires no account, and sends no telemetry or analytics. Your files, your project names, and your tile configuration never leave your device.

All data the app stores lives in your Mac's Application Support folder, under your user account. You can inspect or delete it at any time in Finder.

When you contact us from the app

If you use Report a Bug or Say Hello in the app's Help menu, DeskTiles opens a new message in your own email app. Nothing is sent until you send it, and you can see and edit everything first.

Report a Bug also attaches a small diagnostic log — app version, macOS version, and recent app activity like menu and activation events. It never contains file names, file contents, or anything from your tiles. You can open, review, or remove that attachment before sending, like any other file attached to an email.

When you do write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply and to fix the problem you reported. We do not add you to any mailing list without asking, and we do not pass your message to anyone else.

This website

The desktiles.app website does not use advertising trackers or third-party cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page visits. Cloudflare Web Analytics collects no personal data, sets no cookies, and uses no fingerprinting. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to DeskTiles updates, your email address is stored and processed by Mailrelay (IPZ Marketing, S.L.) on our behalf. Mailrelay acts as a data processor under the GDPR. We use your email address only to send you product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

The subscription form on this site is provided by Mailrelay and embedded directly on the page. The form does not set any cookies while you browse. If you submit the form, Mailrelay may set functional cookies (session and anti-duplicate protection) strictly necessary to process your subscription. These are not advertising or tracking cookies.

Purchasing

DeskTiles is sold exclusively through the Apple App Store. Payments are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details, card number, or billing address. Apple's privacy policy governs any data collected during the purchase.

Email contact

If you email us, we receive your address and message. We use it only to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your email with third parties.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Given the minimal data we handle, a single email to hello@desktiles.app is enough to exercise any of these rights.

Changes

If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and note it in our release notes. Given our zero-data approach, we don't expect this to happen often.
